Type of work: Visual Identity

TrendingNow.Games is a site that helps gamers discover what's hot on Steam with real-time analytics: trending titles, rising hits, hidden gems etc. It also lets users rate games with custom impression stickers.
The branding is inspired by old school gaming but in a modern way. With bright colors, neon gradients and quirky illustrations, the site feels lively and instantly recognizable compared to the usual flat, utilitarian data-style sites out there.

Concept Style

Techy Retro, Youthful Futurism, Bold, Nerdy, Cute but Polished.

Logo Suite & Typography

The logo suite centers around a cute, retro-style computer mascot that gets "blushy cheeks" when we switch to the NSFW sister site of Trendingnow.games. It is paired with a bold arcade-inspired wordmark, giving the website personality. It is approachable, youthful, fun and nerdy in the best way!

Colors

The main palette is fun and vibrant. With bright colors like purples, oranges, yellows, and greens over a dark background, we create a cool, modern retro vibe that celebrates how colorful and diverse the video game world is.

Colors (Sister site)

In contrast, the sister site uses hot pinks and teals on a dark magenta background. It still keeps the retro gaming roots but completely changes the mood of the website. (It's the same universe, just the after-hours version).

☻ User Impressions feature ☻

A big part of what makes this website unique is the Sticker-rating system. Instead of writing reviews, you can just slap a sticker showing what you feel about a game. And if you disagree with someone else's sticker, just cover it with your own! I got to create and come up with a set of fun gaming-inspired stickers, including my favorite one inspired by Kojima's "Absolute Cinema" meme.
